Crowle Community Wellbeing Project 2021
After two decades of housing development in Crowle, residents tell us that our existing Parish Hall is over-subscribed and cannot meet the increasing demand for space from local clubs and groups. Looking beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a clear desire in the community for new and improved indoor and outdoor leisure and sports/exercise facilities to enable local people to improve their health and wellbeing.
To address this, an enhancement of the current facilities on the Jubilee Playing Fields is planned, together with a new building, the Community Wellbeing Space, to be sited next to the Parish Hall.
We are delighted to report that planning consent has been received for the new building.
To follow along with the building work head over to our Facebook page where we will be posted regular updates:
More details – improved facilities on the Jubilee Playing Fields
The new outdoor exercise and leisure facilities will include:
a ‘trim trail’ around the perimeter of the playing field for runners, joggers, young children learning to ride bikes, walkers (with and without dogs) and anyone wishing not to get muddy (i.e. everyone really!)
an all-weather multi-use games area offering basketball, netball, tennis, football skills development, and PE activities and related games for local children’s groups
a covered area to facilitate outdoor activities in poor weather by children’s groups, and also to provide a convenient shelter for those overseeing children on the existing play area or watching sport
picnic tables with seating, sited around the outside of the playing field for those either watching sport or simply enjoying outdoor leisure.
