2020 Hall Extension & Renovation Plans
The Parish Hall has successfully served the community for nearly 20 years. The Trustees believe now is the time to make improvements to bring it up to modern expectations. The Trust has started this process with redecoration of the hall, new curtains and blinds and the installation of wifi. Following these changes we launched a consultation process with our users, the local community and other interested parties. Following that extensive consultation we embarked on reviewing various options against need, practicality and of course available funding. The result of that review concluded with the selection of the following option:
Extension of the toilet facilities, including a complete strip out, redecoration and installation of new facilities
Strip out, redecoration and renewal of the whole kitchen facility
Minor upgrades to the bar area, in line with the new kitchen fit out
This investment in the Hall represents a cost of £50k to address many of the areas we were told need fixing and addressing to improve the overall experience and use of our fantastic facility.
As part of the review we did look at extending the kitchen area as well, but following a detailed cost review and tender process it was deemed cost prohibitive at this stage when considered against the funds available to us. We are confident the renewed kitchen area will meet the needs of our users.
The works will be split into phases dependant on decisions related to the current pandemic situation.
Stage 1 (May 2020) - Complete external works, foundations, walls, roofing and connection to Hall. Started 4 May 2020.
Stage 2 (June / July 2020) - Break through from Hall to new extended area and strip out existing facilities. (Date dependant on whether pre-school/schools return ahead of Summer break)
Stage 3 (August 2020) - Final decoration and fit out of new toilets and kitchen facilities
